Marshfield Youth Hockey is the youth hockey program of Marshfield and Cohasset. We, as a program, strive to instill a love for the game of hockey in our players AND a strong sense of community in our parents and families. If a child wants to play hockey

** IMPORTANT ** MYH COVID-19 MESSAGE

Dear MYH Families –

As a program, it is crucial that we stay vigilant in the adherence to State, MYH and Rink protocols. We are hearing from an Official Source that the game of hockey is under intense scrutiny due to COVID-19 compliance issues. We believe MYH is taking every step possible to protect the well-being of our families.  That being said, we are asking for parents to remind their children of all protocols and that there is no more wiggle room in terms of adhering to them. If we don't then hockey will most certainly be shut down by the state.

RINKS – Enter the rink no more than 15 minutes before game time.  Adhere to all rink rules for foot traffic and where to watch the game.

ARRIVE READY - Arrive at the rink fully dressed, with the exception of skates, gloves, helmet.  We recommend that you find a designated area to put the rest of your gear on before joining your team.

FACE COVERINGS – WHY RISK EXPOSURE?

In accordance with both State and MYH guidelines, any person/player in a rink is required to wear a face covering (mask/gaiter).  Anyone in violation of this requirement will be asked to adhere or asked to leave the rink until they can return with a face covering.

MYH players are required to wear a face covering at all times when not on the iceThis applies to locker rooms and benches.  The state requires that all players taking a face-off wear a face covering until the puck is dropped. At that time, the player can continue to play with the face covering, or personally remove it from their face.  All MYH players are highly encouraged to wear a face covering while playing regardless of the face-off requirement.

Face coverings while not skating will be required and enforced by the coaches.  This applies to benches and in the locker room.  Coaches will issue a warning for the first offense. If there’s a second offense, the player will be asked to leave the team/ice for the remainder of the game/practice.

Although MYH cannot require this, we highly encourage all families involved in carpooling to wear face coverings at all times until all individuals have arrived at their post-hockey destination and can remove their mask and properly sanitize.

Lastly, Mass Hockey and the state government have specifically identified tailgating and parking lot activity as adding to the recent COVID break outs. PLEASE refrain from gathering in the parking lots and inside the rinks.

These measures and requirements may seem excessive to some, but MYH feels that they are necessary in order keep MYH in the rinks and the kids playing the game they love.  The next step is the state of MA shutting down hockey indefinitely, not temporarily.

MYH 2020/2021 Skills Schedule

Dear MYH Families,

As we embark on our new season and more specifically our Monday night Skills offering, we wanted to share some information with you.

Due to the COVID 19 restrictions and Board of Health policies we will have to change the way the groups for skills will work.

The hours are still the same 5:30PM, 6:15PM and 7:00PM but we will need to limit the skaters on the ice for each session and rotate teams on a week-to-week basis.

As a BOD, we are not happy that we have to do this, but at this time there is no better solution. Please see the chart below for the hour assignments. The assignments were made based on the number of kids we could put on the ice together and also not wanting the younger kids in the 7pm hour. Each 40-minute session has 4 teams assigned to it. Those 4 teams will then rotate based on their assigned number. During week 1 of skills, teams assigned with #1, #2 and #3 will be having skills and team #4 will have the week off. After that you see below how the weeks fall. This means that every team is 3 weeks on for skills then 1 week off as the season progresses.
